2nd year final piece

A bowl! Or vessel! This was my final piece when I was in second year (seems ages ago)! Hopefully after New Designers I will be able to bash a few of these out. My mum currently has this one and keeps her oranges on it! Bless. I also want to experiment with glass! Just like this years Final Piece. I may as well use the college facilities whilst I still have the chance! :(:(:(

Chain making!

Whilst having a browse through some old photos of ship yards, I came across this that really caught my eye! The amount of force and energy to make a chain link the size of this really blows my mind! And it was all done by hand!! Lovely jubbly. 

Stanchion

This is my final piece for the degree show. At this time, they are not for sale as I want to exhibit them in galleries after I have finished my degree and New Designers.

After finishing my degree, I will be moving back to my home town Wolverhampton, where I have already set up a forge in an old farm building, So I will be able to produce more of these lights and more of the designs that are currently in my sketchbook. I'm excited!

New Fly Press!

This is my new lady in my life! My new Flypress! I am a very happy Fi right now.... and I feel today is going to be a good day! More interviews and Private show of the Degree show tonight. The drinks will be flowing!

Interviews!

Its all about becoming a nervous wreck when talking to a professional about your work! This is something I deffo need to stamp out! All in all.... I had a good day! Full of lots of helpful advice and lovely people. 
I feel the need to watch the football now and wind down. Hurrah! More interviews tomorrow. Fingers crossed please. 

Bought my camera into the forge one time and decided to mess around with the settings and stuff.... procrastination strikes?! I will miss this place :(

I hate hand in's.

So today.... I was thinking about my hand in... and how scared I am to get my final grade. (And all the things I missed out) I might just burn the envelope when I get it through the post, so I never know my actual final grade. I did work hard.... Promise. 
So, as I went into town to drink my body weight in coffee, I brought a new sketchbook for future projects. The designs just keep on flowing! Its the beginning of the end!

I trust that you can keep a secret........ Here's my final piece for the degree show. Its more that I could have ever hoped for. But shhh.... don't tell the world.... yet ;)

Newwww forge!

So today I went to collect a forge from the other side of Ludlow. The previous blacksmith gave it up after he lost his eye using a fly press.
